In-Store Demonstrators Wanted! - Sonos Wireless Music Zone Players

We are looking for exceptional people to join our high profile demonstration team that will represent our client, Sonos UK, in selected retail stores on selected dates as outlined below.

The successful candidate will be a person who will use their high level of technical expertise to provide advice, inspiration and education to customers through product demonstrations of the Sonos Wireless Multi-Room Music Zone Player.

Key to this role is ability to communicate as you will be engaging both shoppers and store colleagues alike to deliver increased sales and brand awareness of Sonos products. We are seeking individuals who have a great understanding of technology and a passion for music!

Please note, a driving licence and car essential as you will need to transport kit into store.

Rate of pay

  • £85 per demonstration day (inc holiday pay and bonus)

Training

  • Held at Channel Advantage Head Office, Stonor Park, Henley on Thames. Paid at £65 per day (inc holiday pay and bonus).
  • Travel to and from training can be claimed back.
  • Training date choice - either 21st or 22nd March 2012. Campaign starts 24th March 2012.

Stores, locations and duration

  • Costco Stores in Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Milton Keynes (14 days work).
  • John Lewis Norwich (24 days work).
  • Currys Stores Glasgow Braehead and Guildford (22 days work).

Our client is an IT/ technology manufacturer who is customer-centric and at the forefront of innovative technology. The Regional Territory Manager role is designed to complement the customer experience for retailers and shoppers alike.  Responsible for managing and developing a group of consumer electronics retailers within a pre-defined territory, ensuring they receive visits at the agreed frequency.

Key to the role is to ensure brand awareness and education of the retail channel through effective training and message cascade, ultimately gaining the loyalty and trust of retailers, encouraging them to ‘sell’ and ‘upsell’ and creating ‘brand advocates’ within your stores. 

Ensuring merchandising standards/ promotions are implemented and maintained to the standard set out by the client/Channel Advantage will further compliment brand awareness and support sales increase.

Person specification/ criteria:

  • Excellent technical knowledge of the PC and IT marketplace, alongside a genuine interest in technology / IT.
  • A lively and positive personality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport easily.
  • Previous formal training experience and the ability to break down complex messages and deliver them in a simple and effective way.
  • Experience of managing and developing a territory and effective journey planning.
  • An ability to apply knowledge with initiative and without supervision
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Full clean driver’s licence.
  • To be considered you must live within one of the ideal base locations.

This is a full time, field based role and a flexible approach to working practices is required. The role will involve weekend and evening working, as well as overnight stays. 

 Working hours are Tuesday – Saturday.

You will use your high level of knowledge and expertise to provide advice, inspiration and education to customers and retailers about Sonos’ product range. During your visits to leading electrical retailers you will be effectively communicating the full features of Sonos products and services through promotional and relationship building activity.

For the individual with the right combination of experience and personality, this is a very rewarding role in a highly visible team. The people we choose will be able to make a big difference to the success of Sonos, within some of the biggest names in retailing in the UK.

The base for this role is in and around London, with good access to motorways and transport systems. The territory will contain between 80 – 120 different retailers which will be visited on a scheduled call pattern frequency.

  • Previous field based territory management experience or minimum one year sales or retailer experience.

  • There will be two to four weekends work available depending on location.

This is weekend work available from October – Christmas (inc Xmas week) and key to the role is the ability to engage shoppers and retail sales colleagues alike with the features, benefits and advantages of Panasonic Lumix range.

Required experience / skill set:

  1. Previous promoter/ brand ambassador/ trainer/ demonstrator/ sales experience.

  3. Passion for technology and able to understand technology with ease (understanding of photographic basics essential).
  4. Understanding of the sales process and customer buying patterns (training will also be provided).

Package:

  • OTE £80 per day (which includes holiday pay and completion bonus).
  • Successful candidates, who have proven success on this campaign, will be considered for future high profile work if available in their area.
  • A detailed and comprehensive Training programme (including Retail Partner selling skills/ accreditation where applicable) and on-going support will be provided.
  • Panasonic Lumix demonstration kit will be provided for the duration of the campaign to enhance understanding of products and aid demonstrations/ sales.

Campaign availability:

  • Weekends from the 29th October up to and including the 24th December (hours are generally 9:30am – 6pm Saturday and opening hours on Sunday (6 hour shift inc breaks).
  • Training on the 27th & 28th October.

Please ensure you live within reasonable travelling distance of one of the above store locations.

Please note, you may be required to complete a short preparation task prior to attending the training. This would include reading some basic information and a short question and answer set, in order to establish levels of knowledge. We anticipate the time to complete will be less then 30 minutes.
