Panasonic TVs in full glory

The latest Panasonic TVs were demonstrated in full connected glory at The Retreat training facility last week when Channel Advantage hosted a technology showcase and workshop for staff and retail colleagues (Thursday 24th November). 

Panasonic is taking TV to the next level with the new SMART VIERA TV line-up, which offers smart design, smart performance and smart content - such as BBC iPlayer, Facebook, Twitter & YouTube. Available in PlasmaLED & LCD and you can buy them from Dixons Retail and John Lewis stores.

Channel Advantage was delighted to welcome Lenovo laptops into its Technology Showcase at The Retreat training facility last week (Thursday 24th November 2011).

Lenovo is a brand that many businesses will know, but it's also one that more and more consumers will take notice of as this lovely range of laptops comes to a Dixons store near you this Christmas.

Connecting the connected home

Netgear products featured heavily at the recent Channel Advantage Technology Showcase hosted at The Retreat last week (Thursday 24th November 2011).

Not only was there a dedicated session scheduled to run through the latest range of networking products, but also the routers connected up a number of other products around the building to demonstrate the full functionality in live situations.

Channel Advantage's Netgear Team Leader Philip Walsh adds: "It's brilliant to be able to tell the complete connectivity story as it is happening. Bringing the products to life in real scenarios is something you cannot always achieve in a store or event environment." He continues "Netgear forms a key part of the connected home story and it's fantastic to show it all in action."

Intel Processors Rule the Day!

Intel processing power was almost audible last week when Channel Advantage hosted a technology showcase in The Retreat training facilities.

There was a fantastic display of desktop and laptop PCs powered by the latest i-Core range as well as a number of units being used to power other demos - including a gaming display with games accessories from Turtle Beach and digital editing software from Cyberlink.

Alain Brissimitzakis who organised the showcase for retail partners said: "Intel is one of our key clients and we are always on the look out for opportunities to demonstrate their latest product ranges. We have literally put Intel at the centre of the displays to show digital connectivity in action."

Editing your videos and photos has never been easier!

Leading editing software company Cyberlink was one of a number of technology brands that recently attended Channel Advantage’s technology showcase at The Retreat offices in Henley (24th November 2011).

Senior Product Marketing Manager Volker Maxisch demonstrated some of Cyberlink’s latest range of products which includes: PowerDirector Deluxe 10, Media Expresso 6.5, PowerDVD11 Ultro and PhotoDirector.

Taiwanese company Cyberlink is represented in the UK by Channel Advantage partners Zaboura PR and channel development specialists Channel Assist.

Gaming Gets Serious at Channel Advantage

We love gadgets at Channel Advantage and we are also rather partial to a spot of video gaming, so combine the two and you just have to enter the world of the latest and greatest accessories.

We were delighted to welcome Lygo International to The Retreat last week to showcase their fabulous range of high-end gaming accessory brands including Turtle Beach and Gunnar.

For those who aren’t into the gaming world, Turtle Beach is a well-known US brand that specialises in quality wired and wireless headsets for Xbox, Playstation and PCs. Gunnar is the brand for glasses that reduce glare and eye strain for those of us who spend too much time in front of a screen!

The team came along to the Channel Advantage offices last week to showcase some of their leading products which are now available to buy in the UK – in Dixons, Game and Best Buy stores.

The headsets really do immerse you into your gaming worlds whether you are in the latest car chase or deep in a shoot ‘em up – you’ll hear footsteps, gun fire, engine roar and the like with such clarity that you really believe you are there!

Channel Advantage Hosts Technology Showcase

Channel Advantage was delighted to welcome some of the world's best technology brands to The Retreat on Thursday (24th November 2011) to take part in a technology showcase.

There were fabulous displays from leading brands: Intel, Asus, Panasonic TVs, Netgear, Cyberlink, Sonos, Lenovo and Turtle Beach.

The showcase is designed to provide an interactive demonstration and training opportunity for staff, new recruits and importantly, retail colleagues; and capitalises on the full digital connectivity story eg Netgear routers used to connect Asus notebooks together; Turtle Beach gaming headsets used for Panasonic TV demos; and Intel-powered base units used to showcase new Cyberlink software products.

Channel Advantage MD Richard Lipscombe comments: “We love putting together win-win-win situations where vendors are in the same room as retailers who are in the same room as staff. We’re hosting more of these showcases as the connected home story develops. Watch this space!"

A Touch of Frost at The Retreat

Channel Advantage was delighted to welcome Dixons Retail PLC's product training manager Nathan Frost at The Retreat training facilities on Wednesday 28th September 2011.

Nathan came to give Channel and some of our leading Clients a better understanding of how to create and manage online content for the Dixons Product Learning Centre ("PLC"). Always a positive and energetic presenter, Nathan was well received by all and great progress was made on evolving the training material to meet store colleagues' needs.

Sonos Training in The Retreat

The Sonos Trainers were back at The Retreat on Wednesday 28th September to train the new wave of product demonstrators in time for their Peak Campaign in Comet stores.

Bursts of music could be heard as the new recruits learned about the fabulous Play 3 and Play 5 music systems in preparation for their in-store demo activities in the run up to, and over, Christmas.

Sonos Tactical Team Training in The Retreat

The Retreat was alive with the sound of music recently (Thursday 28th July 2011) as Channel Advantage held a hands-on training course for new members of the 2011 Sonos tactical demonstration team.

The training followed the Channel Advantage proven formula for success - a mix sessions including product knowledge, people skills and processes.

With such a fantastic range of products from Sonos such as the PLAY:3 and PLAY:5 new sound systems to demonstrate, the product training was fun, engaging and highly interactive. 

Testing the Team's knowledge James Hazell and Laura Smith - two of the in-house Sonos retail product specialists - set head to head challenges for the team - with winners gaining sweets for their efforts.
